Operation Clean Up Week = A Huge Sucess!
From 3–7 November, our amazing industry members hit the streets, parks, and coastlines across Takapuna, Rosebank, Highbrook, Hamilton, Rotorua, Hawke’s Bay, and Christchurch — all to give our local environments some well-deserved TLC!
The weather couldn’t have been better, and with blue skies overhead, our volunteers turned out in full force. There was teamwork, laughter, and bags upon bags of rubbish collected — all helping to keep our communities clean, healthy, and beautiful.
Highlights include:
- The Hamilton site filled two skips with rubbish in 90 minutes and found 15 shopping trollies (a record for Hamilton City Council apparently.)
- 320kg of rubbish found in 1hour at the event organised by SCION in Rotorua
- On the flipside, the team in Hawkes Bay was once again pleased to find relatively little rubbish – although they did unfortunately find a bag of household rubbish and various bits of plastic
A massive thank you to everyone who joined in — and a special shoutout to Dutton Stormwater for keeping spirits high (and stomachs full!) with a well-earned BBQ and drinks. Our thanks to our other sponsors - Aotearoa NZ Made for the bags, Pact Group for the sanitiser, and 3R Group/Tyrewise for supplying prizes for the 'Weirdest' finds.
We’re also grateful to the local Business Associations and Councils for helping coordinate and dispose of the collected waste — teamwork makes the dream work!
Let’s keep the good vibes (and clean-ups) going strong — here’s to protecting our waterways and communities together.
See you at the next clean-up in 2026!
