2026 Conference Postponed
Due to escalating global disruption impacting fuel and polymer supply, and the resulting uncertainty across our industry, the Plastics NZ Conference has been postponed from May 2026 to May 2027.
This decision has not been made lightly. The current situation is creating significant resourcing and financial pressure for many across the industry – particularly for those exposed to ethylene, propylene and styrene supply chains – and this is now beginning to impact participation.
We have also considered what is required to deliver a conference that reflects the value our members expect. With participation under pressure, proceeding in 2026 would have resulted in a compromised event and poor use of member funds. Postponing to May 2027 provides the best opportunity to deliver a well-supported conference.
We recognise that many delegates will have already made travel and other arrangements, and we’re sorry for the disruption this may cause.

Queenstown – May 2026
We are aware that some members may still choose to travel to Queenstown over the original conference dates. If there is sufficient interest, we would be happy to facilitate an informal industry catch-up during that time. Please let us know if you would be interested.

- What happens to my registration?
- Registrations can be transferred to the 2027 conference. If the new dates do not suit, or you would prefer not to carry your registration forward, a full refund is available. Our team will be in touch once dates are confirmed to check your preference.
- Can I get a refund?
- A full refund is available if you choose not to transfer your registration to the 2027 conference.
- When will 2027 dates be confirmed?
- We are currently working to confirm arrangements for May 2027 and will share the new dates as soon as possible ( we expect this to be before 20 April).
- What about accommodation?
- Accommodation arrangements will be re-established for 2027. Please note that pricing and availability may change, and further details will be provided once confirmed.
- I’ve already booked travel – what should I do?
- We recommend contacting your airline or travel provider directly to understand your options. As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, Plastics NZ is not responsible for travel costs, and we strongly encourage delegates to book flexible or refundable travel wherever possible.
- Will the programme stay the same?
- We intend to carry forward the Unleashing the Future theme and overall programme structure. There may be some changes to speakers or content, and we will keep you updated as planning progresses.
