It is with a tinge of sadness that I announce the pending retirement of Ken Sowman from his role as Chief Executive at Plastics NZ.

I want to acknowledge the fantastic effort that Ken has made for Plastics NZ. He has a passion for the industry second to none and he has a wealth of knowledge and experience which we have all benefited from. Ken is a friend to many in the industry and I want to personally thank him in assisting me in the role of Plastics NZ President.

Ken’s retirement will coincide with the 2019 Plastics NZ conference celebrating 75 Years of
Plastics NZ.
I am very excited to announce that Rachel Barker has been appointed as the new CEO of
Plastics NZ.

Rachel comes from F&P Healthcare and has a Bachelor of Engineering and a Post Graduate Certificate in Engineering (Plastics). She has also been on the Plastics NZ National Executive for the past 8 years.

Rachel will commence on 5 November as CEO Designate reporting to Ken Sowman until the May 2019 conference. Rachel will then take over from Ken as CEO upon his retirement.

I want to congratulate Rachel and welcome her to the Plastics NZ team.
I am looking forward to working with her in her new role.

Plastics NZ President
