Funding For Technology
There may be financial assistance available to your company if you are looking to install new technology that will make your operations more energy efficient.
We recommend you talk to the Best Practice Programme Coordinator in the first instance for advice on applying.
Funding programmes available:

Electricity Commission Compressed Air Systems Efficiency Programme Fully-funded audits of compressed air systems, for compressors larger than 150kW. This will soon be extended to cover compressors over 75kW in capacity.

Electricity Commission Motor Bounty Scheme
The Motor Bounty Scheme is an incentive scheme to encourage motor users to upgrade the efficiency of their electric motors. The Scheme aims to permanently remove older inefficient motors by paying motor users up to $7,400 towards the cost of replacing those motors with newer, more efficient ones.The scheme is for three phase motors with capacities of 22kW to 265kW.

EECA Facility Design Audit Funding
Funding for an energy design audit at the early stages of a building project. This fund will contribute towards the cost of having an energy efficiency expert work with a company when designing a new plant. Plastics manufacturers have used this funding with great success. EECA Technology Grants
EECA offers cash grants to help businesses adopt energy saving technologies. You can apply for up to 40% of the capital cost of an energy efficiency project, to a maximum of $100,000.
Some examples of plastics manufacturers that have successfully been awarded Technology Grants to adopt a new or under-utilised technology are:

Plastics New Zealand |
40% grant towards barrel and screw insulation for a trial at 3 plastics sites |
