Designing a New Plant

The optimum time to consider energy efficiency is when a company first designs their manufacturing plant. It is at this stage that important decisions about layout, pipe design, system selection and fitout are made, and all of these can have a major impact on the amount of energy the plant consumes.

The Plastics New Zealand Best Practice Energy Programme has assisted member companies to design new facilities with energy efficiency considerations. These “energy design audits” have delivered excellent results.
